OUR PROCESS
 | | Send us an e-mail with your questions or interest in renting any of our homes, or if you would like to get on our waiting list. We will respond, set up a meeting time, and you will come to our office for a short meeting.
When meeting a potential tenant group, we have found it to be useful to have as many of the household group present during the meet-n-greet phase. We will discuss any questions you have regarding rent, lease dates, and any particulars regarding the home and your requirements. A signed lease and a paid deposit are necessary for us to remove a home from the for rent status.
Our leases are usually a one-year period. Each tenant signs the lease. We like to have one tenant be the lead tenant so communications regarding leasing and any issues during the lease can be efficiently dealt with.
If during the lease a tenant change is necessary we have a process whereby a tenant may replace himself or herself with another. As long as Hometown Housing and all tenants agree to the new tenant the lease is modified to reflect the change. This process does not apply to the final 3 months of the lease period.
We work with local plumbers, electricians and support contractors to quickly address any maintenance issues. We also provide the landscape maintenance. The quality and appearance of our homes is very important to us. If something does not work we want to know about it and get it fixed.
Providing referrals for former or current tenants is a responsibility we take seriously, and have a long history of fulfilling tenant requests to Housing, Financial and Employment queries.
Hometown Housing will do everything possible to provide you a with secure and comfortable home. What we ask of our tenants in return is a commitment to respect the property and to be a good neighbor.
